Today: Weak bands of lake effect snow focused across Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, southern Erie, and southern Wyoming Counties through midday...then lifting north this afternoon. Snow showers may reach the Buffalo metro area between 2-4PM. Local accumulation of an inch or so possible...especially in the Southern Tier this morning. Brisk and cold with highs ranging from 34 in Buffalo to 30 in the higher terrain.
Tonight: Weak bands of lake effect snow becoming focused across northern Erie and Genesee Counties. Local accumulation of an inch or two possible. Becoming mostly clear south of the lake effect snow. Lows ranging from 32 near the lakeshore to 29 in Buffalo...but dropping to near 20 in Southern Tier Valleys.
Tomorrow: Becoming mostly cloudy. Snow showers and areas of heavier lake effect snow developing after 4PM, then continuing through the night. High near 36.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with a chance of snow showers and perhaps some lake effect snow in the morning, then becoming partly sunny. High near 37. Low near 31.
Wednesday: A period of snow or mixed precipitation in the morning, changing to rain before ending in the afternoon. Strong winds developing in the higher terrain south of Buffalo during the day with high winds developing across all of Western New York at night....accompanied by potentially significant lake snows. High near 40. Low near 33.
Thursday: Very windy and cold with snow showers and potentially significant lake snows. Temperatures holding steady or falling through the 20s.
Friday: Windy and cold with snow showers and potentially significant lake snows, mainly during the morning. High near 25. Low near 19.
